Today, I spoke with a few IT company owners about what they really look for when hiring students.
And honestly, their answer surprised me.
It wasn’t about coding, communication, or confidence.
It was about loyalty.
They said — “We train freshers, invest time and money, help them grow… and before we know it, they move on.”
Sounds familiar, right?
Somewhere in our education system, we forgot to talk about the importance of staying committed.
Colleges teach skills, but not the value of building long-term relationships with the place that gives you your first real opportunity.
Loyalty isn’t about limiting yourself — it’s about growing with the company that believed in you first.
It’s about patience, consistency, and creating a track record that actually speaks for you.
Maybe it’s time we start teaching this skill too — because it’s not just good for careers, it’s good for life. 💭
What do you think — should loyalty be considered a core professional skill?
